Would a VDWS cert be acceptable as an alternative to the start cert?

I had a good sail on the lake last night (30th) with some great advice from Mike thrown in. It was the first time on the lake for me and was hoping to catch some others socially to find out a bit more about the lake and other users. Unfortunately I was the only one there!
Anyhow, hope for a bit more wind and I am back again next Monday.
