Northumberland Wave Slam 13 Years ago Karma: 0
Taking place next weekend 16/17th April. Northumberland Wave Slam
Forum here
Long range forecast looking promising, latest update from the organiser:

"OK Wave Junkies,

All sorted with Budle Farm for camping if it transpires
that we're on up there. You're looking at
£5/night/person. Vans and campers are fine as well as
canvas.

I've also provisionally booked the Victoria in Bamburgh
(as they have tinterweb) for provisional registrations
Friday night and skippers meeting / more registrations
first thing Saturday morning. Depending how far we get
with the competition we may use it again on Sunday
(albeit slightly later after Wave Slammers pub style)

If you'd like tea/coffee and a bacon/sausage sarnie
please indicate!

If the wind dictates that Druridge Bay is a more suitable
option I have managed to secure camping within the
grounds of the country park (if necessary). They are also
happy for us to use their visitors centre, again
refreshments can be organised if you indicate you'd like
them.

NB: they don't want 40 vans parking along the back road
so it would be a case of parking in Hadston Scars car
park (first come) or their own chargeable car park.

It looks like the weather is finally turning so let's all
do the wind dance, get our stoke on and prepare to push
each other to the next level.

Northerly swell northerly swell northerly swell.... "

This event earlier this year was cancelled due no wind.

Update from Joe Thwaites at Boardskillz, After several weeks of zero wind it appears we may have a decent forecast and more importantly some swell this coming weekend. Its a Bank Holiday so we're conscious that many interested parties may already have plans. That said if there is enough interest we'll run the competition Sat/Sun. We're asking that people post on the boardskillz facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/pages/boardskillzcouk/259364652216
to show their interest so we can establish whether it's worth running the event at such short notice. Updates will also be available on the Northumbrian Windsurfing Club Forum and the boardskillz.co.uk website.

Also on Boards web site-
