Want to inform that I've completed an Android app for windsurfing.
See free version de_script_ion at Wind Race and pro version at Wind Race Pro. Both versions are available at Google Play/Android Market.

Of cause I'm using Pro . It's installed on my ancient HTC. I'm using it with waterproof armband and headphones (price starts from 8£ at ebay). The Pro version has voice countdown feature, records GPS tracks and informs about acceleration.

sounds awesome, hopefully going to start sailing some slalom soon and will also be getting a smart phone so will definately be getting this as it sounds right up my street
does it do GPS runs like for GPS speedsurfing? would be awesome if it was useable for that!

During the such a long period I was continuing work on the app time to time. The app was rewritten several times. The last version is very different from the version which was done three years ago.
The both apps (free and pro versions) provide the same functions now:
- detailed GPS stats in the html report, includes report with track trace and charts, such a report does not need any additional app to investigate the track (i.e. the can be opened by any browser)
- variety of the additional output formats (GPX, KML, NMEA)
- starting procedure notification with the voice, sound and vibration
- the speed value notification with the voice, sound and vibration
- sos button
The free app contains some ads which should not be annoying actually
