I’m planning on going on a family holiday in the lake district in august does anyone know if there’s any windsurfing spots up there or even better a campsite with a windsurfing lake.

You can sail on quite a few of the lakes
There's a campsite on the shore of Ullswater near Pooley Bridge - hang on this one where you can camp right at the edge of the lake. There's a campsite on the West side of Coniston too, can't remember the name and I guess there must be some on Windermere. A lot of the lakes are in quite steep valleys (e.g. Coniston water) so the wind can be gusty unless its blowing down the valley.
Only hire place I know of is at the bottom end of Ullswater in Glenridding

The lakes are gusty and flukey, for a steadier wind try Allonby on the coast, its a big wide gently shelving beach which faces West. Also Wallney Island near Barrow has a following.

Thanks I’ve booked myself into ullswater . I don’t know whether to wish for wind or not if it gets windy it will be great for windsurfing but rubbish for the family and vice versa. Oh stuff it come on wind.
