Hello everyone,

I think Im going to be off to Queens university in Belfast. Anyone know what the windsurfing scene is like over there in Northern Ireland??? Im sure(hoping) theres no shortage of spots but many windsurfers??? thanks

Hmm. They talk funny and the beer's shite.

Cracking country/province though (and Belfast is a top city), with some amazing windsurfing conditions. I've never actually sailed there. I just got to drive past some great spots/conditions whilst having my ears boxed by the Norn Irn lass I was seeing at the time.

I'm in northern ireland, though only took up windsurfing recently. There are a number of good spots. There is a sailing club at Newtownards o n the Strangford Lough http://www.newtownardssailingclub.co.uk/index.htm which gets a good number of windsurfers out. People also go out with Newcastle sailing club - at least it would give you an opportunity to see the mountains of mourne. And of course you can head to the north coast. There's alot of surfing going on there but apparently at the white rocks portrush is a popular spot. I'm not good enough to head out there yet. Scotlands not that close!
