Morecambe bay low tide/high tide sailing 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Thinking about a sail at Morecambe this w/end if I can get a pass from the missus, wind & tide look OK to me.

BBC says the tide is 8.6m - is this OK for launchinglanding at high tide near the Battery.

How long is the walk out at low tide in Morecambe?

Any advice appreciated.

Sorry, I didn't see your post till it was too late, but if you went to the Battery this weekend you'd have bumped into the other guys and I guess they'll have filled you in.

Its hard to judge how far the walk is at low water, but I'm prepared to do it if there's good wind (NW is best at low water), and I'm a complete wimp. Takes about 10mins, with pauses to swap gear round, swear etc)

We have a mailing list for Morecambe sailors. If you plan to get out regularly, let me know your email (I haven't worked out how to send private messages on iwindsurf yet though).

Thanks for the info.
I was out at Cockerham on Sat. - which meant kids on Sunday. We took a trip over to Morecambe, looks like I missed a good sail plenty of windsurfers out & kiters.
I'll give Morecambe a go next time, it looks like it works well in a NW.

Cheers.
