I'm going to be close by Lake Bala this weekend, and was wondering whether to take my board. Probably will, just in case there is enough wind....

Can anyone advise where I should launch from?

I went there last year to a caravan site at the top of the lake with its own beach but, it was only for residents. There is a sailing school on the north side of the lake which I guess you can launch from. There is a warder that comes round collecting launching fees. It was £3.00 last year.

Thanks. Hopefully there will be enough wind this weekend. I might ring the club and see if they have any advice.

Car park at the top (Bala) end of the lake. Either pay at hut at entrance or pay and display. Changing room and shower in the stone building. Bala works best (only) in a SW'ly but that is accelerated due to the surrounding terrain. Looking at the forecast you might get a sail Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon.
