Increasingly we seem to be the centre of attention of a number of junk adverts, which, if it gets worse could have a detrimental effect upon the use of the forums. Are there any tools which could be used to limit access to this type of posting and is it worth checking with similar sites to see if this is a problem they have
a) encountered and b) overcome

there are a few ways of doing it - I'll have a look into it and maybe come back here and see what route people think is best.

OK for now I've switched off anonymous posting - public can still read but you have to be registered and logged in to post or reply.
I know this annoys some but until I get some security images software or similar set up it'll have to be the way....

Seems like a small price to pay to cut down on the nuisance factor, once again thanks for the support.

It is probably for the best, I have deleted an awful lot of spam for all sorts of things... I think registering to post is only fair and it is not like it is much effort.
