Hi everyone,

Neil Ferguson took some great pictures at Grimwith yesterday. Take a look at:

Then click on 'Photo Gallery' at the left of the page.

Looks like you all had a good day.
What is the story about the last photo on the second page ( adj0008.jpg ) looks like 2 windsurfers and a dinghy having a little coming together :_blink_:

Hi Ken,

I don't think that there was an incident between boards and boats, most of the dinghy racing was earlier in the day, before the wind really got up, even then Neil in his Contender 652 (who later later took the windsurfing photographs) and two Vortex sailors were the only people to finish the second race at around 3pm. The last dinghy race was abandoned due to the strong wind conditions.

I wasn't sailing/windsurfing, myself, on Sunday, as I am only an intermediate windsurfer and was still recovering from the previous day when, at times, there was even more wind. During Saturday/Sunday, a gust of 62 mph was recorded on the club's anemometer.

It's amazing how well the boards and boats get along at the club. There is very rarely any sort of incident, considering that there are at least three dinghy races on Sundays (and sometimes on Saturdays as well). All of the windsurfers are very considerate and keep out of the way of racing dinghies. If ever there is any sort of an incident it is usually involves a novice windsurfer or novice sailor who have managed to get in the way at the start of a race, at the finish or near to a course mark. Even then, I don't ever recall an actual collision.

I think that the photographs of the dinghies on Sunday would have been taken by Neil's young son, James, as his dad was racing.
