Hi,

Has anyone been out at Grimwith lately? What's going on?
I was out at Redcar this Thursday & Friday.
5.0m and 74Ltrs on Thursday, 6.1m & 85Ltrs Fri.

Thursday was the better day but the wind held out to allow 4hr seesions on both days. Friday was westerly giving cross-shaw with a little B&J and some down the line.

Thursday was Southerly and dead offshore. This meant it was possible to ride the waves in both direction parralel to the shore. Front side sets up to the steel works and then down the line back down the beach on a broad reach. Flat water out back.

This puts extra miles on the clock, but it gets the juices pumping more than Grimwith.

What's going on up there?

Dave

Hi Dave,

I've been going up to the club regularly since it re-opened on 1st May, albeit I have been sailing or doing jobs as opposed to windsurfing. The reservoir is more than full, i.e. it is showing +1 on the scale on the tower so there is little walking to do from your vehicle to the water.

It seems to have never stopped raining since Wednesday and there was lots of wind on Thursday and Friday. John C., Phil H., Keith H. and some others have been going up during the week. Today, there were quite a few windsurfing including John and Matthew D., Keith H., David and Carol C. and some others. The wind was up and down all day between F2 and F4 and, unusually, it was northerly. There is a Vortex Open Meeting taking place today and tomorrow but there is lots of space.

Some of the lads have been using the updated Grimwith website for the purpose of 'Buddy Sailing' and it seems to be working well. We really need more windsurfers to contribute and use the site more. It is good for Buddy Sailing, buying and selling stuff, club news etc. Take a look :
