No need for weeping and wailing ? I take it you haven't tried to buy kit in the North West then! It's fine if you want to buy wave kit (of two brands) and put up with poor service, or 10year old Neil Pryde gear and even poorer service - but if you want real solid advice from a genuine guy, who knows his stuff where do ya go now ?

Aloha!? I didn't mean to get people's backs up. John is a great fella and very enthusiastic about the sport that we all love, but every time I have tried to buy anything there he is closed and no-one is answering the phone (and I have tried to buy things there on quite a few occasions) Perhaps I have just been unlucky but more time n the shop less time on the water would make better business sense. As I say good luck to the man. Though the more shops open the better, so if he re-thinks and stays open its not like I'll be sad or anything!

Len at Aloha is the only other shop I can reccomend - nice guy, good advice, good sailor.

But D spot closing does reduce everyones choice of variety of kit - eg Len don't do starboard, tushingham, pryde, or severne.

Just have to make do with ezzy & RRD - it's a hard life!

He is't really closing.

This is just for the quiet winter months, as for Aloha he is shut just as much as D-spot.

So if your looking for shop to use for the next few months drop John a line.

I was thinking christmas treees and cheap tat for blokes or of courses a sex shop. Shame the licences costs 4 grand for a sex shop(don't ask). I'm wondering who anonymous is ?

Well I'm the Anonymous that started the thread, I have a user ID on here but chose not to use it.

Different Anonymous posted the others.

I would have gladly revealed myself (ooer) if I thought one (in particular) of the other regional outlets would not be offended by my suggestion that they could learn something in terms of service from John.

Very glad to here I may be able to buy my first proper small board from John next year when I'm competent enough!!
