Anyone been to the SW lately (or any other surf related area in the world)? They all seam to have at least one cool hangout for surfers to watch the sea with a few cool surf vids on in the background. Why hasn't WK developed something like this? That strange ice cream shop / pub thing could be done up a treat.

Do any of you WK users have a surf hangout?



Perhaps this could be put into the WK regeneration proposal.

Hmmm. Each to their own, but I'm not sure I aspire to living the surfer pseudo-lifestyle. Hawaiian print shorts, bleached hair and fat face T-shirts are all fine in their place (as long as the shorts aren't on top of a wetsuit), but not for me on a cold November weekend in WK. Having said that it would be good to have some sort of food / bar / mingle area included if the new development does go ahead, but trying to make it a 'surf hangout' might just turn it into Scally Central.



I have wondered about popping into that funny caf place on the prom for a pint, but it looks hermetically sealed from the outside and doesn't look wetsuit friendly. More to the point, does it do proper beer? I suspect not.

You've obviously not been to the driftwood spars in St Agnes then. Admittedly windsurfing has more of a pipe & slippers middle aged spread lifestyle than the other but it would still be a cool place for some food etc. I think the "scallys" as you put it would likely avoid the place anyway in favour of Wetherspoons.

What with the hey now??!!!?? Have I missed a new development within the sport??? Pipe and slippers - Is this a new battern system from pryde?? or some board revolution from Starboard??







And how do I do a scally?? Actually writing that has made it sound even more funny.



People, people people.... you need to go to a place with 1.5 mile reaches, fresh clean water and great changing facilities.



Carrsington is the place to go and they even have the Knockers.. That's the knockerdown pub with real beer/larger and that there wine stuff.



Pipe / Slippers / scallys are entirely at your own discretion

U turn up in ur slippers / blaring smooth fm / smoking a pipe and you'll soon find yourself sat on your tod @ the knockerdown speed monkey!

thinking about it speedmonkey, we'd always drink with you.. no matter what you smoke/listen to/drive.. no one else would provide such random entertainment of pulling odd geordies and mastering the new manoeuvre called "the roger"!
