Welcome to the new site !

This has taken me some time and been promised a long time but it's finally here !

What's the point ?

Many functions on the old site weren't working quite right - especially image uploads, and the software it was based on was loosing popularity and therefore support.  

I've tried to use software which will offer us some improvements over the last site - the main improvement is in the community aspects but as usual it needs you guys (& gals) to use it.  Try clicking "Your Profile" on the user menu to see the basics.  Soon I intend to add all your sails and boards to that bit so that you can add & edit them there.  

The galleries will take a little time to move over as there's a lot of photo's and web space is limited - I'm having to move them then delete the old ones as I go - don't be surprised if some disappear if they were naf

Please feel free to comment and cajole me over the next few days and tell me what's missing etc. Most peoples personal information should have come across but not all...

If you really want to see the old site it's visible here but BEWARE some of the links don't work and anything written there will not be reflected in the new site unless absolutely essential.   

People who used to have editing access to the old site will do so again - just bear with me

Downloads - not sure it's vital until something needs downloading :)

Last seen block **Done

Bert, the things i liked about the old site was the home page permanantly showed the sailors log and more importantly it showed a list of the latest forum chats. I,m a bit of a techno phobe and it,s taking me a while to get used to the new layout.All this work must have taken some time to do, thanks for all your effort it,s greatly appreciated.

Hi Bert like the new site but the forums on the right side on the old site was good for a quick review and I sometimes log in then have to log in a second time?? Iam on a Mac using OSX so maybe you are on a Windows PC ?? just a comment not a moan.Dammed fine job you do young man!!

Hi Bert
Same problem, just logged in, written a post on the weather forum and noticed that I was listed as a visitor.
Now I\'m used to the new layout and the gremlins are being sorted, I like it.

Hey Andy - I\'m hoping your platform & OS aren\'t the issue as it\'s all developed on a G5 and OSX 10.4.6 :grin
I\'m also getting the login issues sometimes but figured the other issues are higher priority.
I\'ll have a good look into it after my holiday :p
